Kenny Rankin

Kenny Rankin's musical odyssey began in New York City. At age 21, he picked up the guitar and six months later he was in the studio with Bob Dylan playing rhythm guitar on the album Bringin' It All Back Home.

Rankin compositions like "Haven't We Met,” "In The Name of Love," and "Peaceful" were recorded by a diverse collection of artists. In the early 70's, after relocating to Los Angeles, Rankin made a series of critically-acclaimed albums on the Little David and Atlantic labels: Like A Seed, Silver Morning, Inside, The Kenny Rankin Album and After The Roses. He's played Lincoln Center, toured with the Manhattan Transfer and has sung with the New American Orchestra and numerous community symphonies in addition to his regular club dates.

In 1988 he recorded Hiding in Myself for Cypress/A&M Records, and in 1991, he made his recording comeback with his Chesky Records release, Because of You.
